Yes, I see why you are being denied: you set your affiliation type to COMC when you registered as address@hidden today. If you had set your affiliation type as DGCU (Degree Granting College or University), you would have been automatically allowed access to Unidata McIDAS-X. No worries, I added address@hidden to our "McIDAS Exceptions List" (a list of sites that are granted access to Unidata McIDAS-X/-XCD even though one or more things in their registration indicate that they are not necessarily from a U.S. degree granting college or university. You should be able to access the Unidata McIDAS-X/-XCD downloads now (you may need to log off the Unidata site and then log back in; I am not sure).
