Hi Paul,

No worries.

If you mean serve by McIDAS ADDE, then yes, but you would need to install McIDAS
on weather, and setup remote ADDE access. This is not hard to do, and I can
help you through the process if you are interested.

re:

The blow-by-blow is:

- create the 'mcidas' and 'mcadde' accounts on weather

- download and build McIDAS in the 'mcidas' account

NB: I am just about to release an update to Unidata McIDAS (v2009i)
that incorporates all of SSECs modifications/additions to their current
release, v2011.1. In case you didn't know, I stopped incrementing the
year portion of the Unidata McIDAS release because the changes being
made to McIDAS-X are not nearly as frequent as they once were, so the
package is not really as new as a new name would suggest.

- build and install McIDAS

- configure the McIDAS installation to be able to use any/all of the
data you are receiving the the LDM

- setup remote ADDE access by running the script ~mcidas/mcinet2009.sh
  as 'root'

- make sure that port 112 is open to incoming requests through the
  firewall on weather

At this point, McIDAS on climate should be able to access datasets served
by ADDE on weather.

re:
> Your becoming a better mcidas user,

McIDAS is like Unix/Linux: once you get familiar with the concepts and
how to run commands, the rest is easy :-)

Cheers,

Tom
