[McIDAS #SSN-755786]: Meteosat question

I apologize for the slow response.  I just returned from work-related travel
to Europe and Washington, DC.

I don't know much about IDL, so I can't say for sure which output
formats would be usable.  McIDAS can output in a variety of formats using
different approaches:

AXFORM - binary dump including external Lat,Lon files
IMGCOPY - copy to GeoTIFF
IMGCOPY - copy to netCDF

The question back to you is what formats IDL supports?

Full resolution, full disk images will be very large.  That is the likely
reason that you were not able to use it straight off.

As soon as you indicate which file format(s) will be usable in IDL, I
will send more specific information on McIDAS capabilities for outputting
to that(those) format(s).
