I agree.  The section of the include file that is being used seems incomplete.

I have only one idea:  try building with GNU compilers, not IBM's.  Building
with gcc/g77 should be easy enough:  simply follow the example for the
shell you are using (e.g., C Shell, BASH, etc.) in:
