Carol,

The rtstats(1) utility in the LDM package will periodically examine the LDM
queue and send a statistics report to an LDM. The reports can then be
processed however one desires. We do that here for our IDD network. See
<http://rtstats.unidata.ucar.edu/rtstats/>.

rtstats(1) has a man(1) page.
