No, we know of no problems.  In fact, I just went to the LDM Downloads page:

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/ldm/index.jsp

and clicked on:

Source Downloads
ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/ldm/

and see the listing as expected.

Please copy the error messages you are seeing and send them to us so we
can better understand what you are experiencing.
