NCEI Ingest and Archive System Unavailable Beginning 4:00 PM (EST) on 06 December 2016

This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. We provide the archive for reference; many of the answers presented here remain technically correct, even if somewhat outdated. NCEI Data Providers:
The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) Ingest and Archive System in Asheville, NC will not be available beginning 4:00 PM (EST) on 06 December 2016. The NCEI will not be able to receive your data for ingest into the Archive at that time. This planned outage is expected to end by 11:00 PM (EST) on 06 December 2016; however, the outage time may need to be extended. A follow-up email will be sent when the system is ready to receive data for ingest. Due to the expected late completion time, the follow-up email will not be sent until approximately 9:00 AM (EST) on 07 December 2016.
