David, You should try to correlate LDM slowdowns with log messages to vet this hypothesis. Having said that, it appears that your problem is that your upstream LDM-s become unavailable for some reason. You could have a networking problem or the upstream LDM-s could have a problem. Can you contact the upstream LDM users and have them check their log files?
