Russ,

In order to receive data-products from hosts outside your firewall, it *must* 
allow outgoing TCP connections to port 388.

In order to send data-products to hosts outside your firewall, it *must* allow 
incoming TCP connections to port 388.

This should be covered in the LDM documentation on pre-installation steps. See
