Hi Dave, re: > OK, I'll take you're word for it. I expected to see messages about > decoding satellite images and the like, which I haven't seen since > moving to the new machine. I saw messages in ~ldm/logs/ldmd.log.1 while I was on your machine building the ldm-mcidas 'pnga2area' decoder. If you recall, I changed the pqact.conf actions for the UNIWISC images to log to ~ldm/logs/ldm-mcidas.log. While I was on your machine, I saw LOTS of messages being logged to that file. (I also made a comment about the need to keep an eye on the size of the ldm-mcidas.log file and recommended a crontab entry that would rotate the file). > Part of that might be the rarity with which > the satellite images had been successfully grabbed and saved, though. Logging from pnga2area to ~ldm/logs/ldm-mcidas.log was working nicely, but a quick check of ~ldm/etc/pqact.conf shows that someone removed logging to that file. Just so you know, I prefer to have the pnga2area log messages go to a different file from the LDM-specific log messages. The reason for this is that it is much easier to troubleshoot the LDM if ldmd.log is not full of non-LDM log messages.
