However, I have a 32-bit system (also 6.4.1) that > needs to get the data from these machines, and I can't get them to > talk. When I use the rpcinfo commands I get: > > 64-bit to 64-bit > [root@nmqxrt-24 ~]# rpcinfo -n 388 -t 172.18.34.32 300029 6 > program 300029 version 6 ready and waiting > > > 32-bit to 64-bit > [root@nmqxrt-32 etc]# rpcinfo -n 388 -t 129.15.40.207 300029 6 > rpcinfo: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection reset by peer > program 300029 version 6 is not available > [root@nmqxrt-32 etc]# rpcinfo -n 388 -t 129.15.40.207 300029 > rpcinfo: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection reset by peer > program 300029 version 0 is not available > > > Note, 172.18.34.32 and 129.15.40.207 are the same machine, and the same > interface ... the 32-bit is on the other side of a firewall and we're > using nat'ing, but we are allowing any and everything through the > firewall between the machines at this time (of course we want to lock it > down to just port 388, but for testing...). > > Again, any ideas or input would be appreciated. The bit-size of the computers is irrelevant. There are numerous examples of LDM interoperability. I suspect that your firewall is interfering with the establishment of the TCP connection.
