Woo Hoo! Glad to hear things went well. >I may end up liking this new freebsd dual Xeon box a lot. I _love_ our FreeBSD box. It is a real performer. >Apropos the most recent RedHat discussion, Unidata's >foray's into freebsd may be well worth the effort to >the community in the near future. This ldm-6.0.2 freebsd >compatibility is very welcome and very very much >appreciated. (Ya done good) I am CCing Steve Emmerson and Steve Chiswell on this. Steve E did the LDM-6 rewrite and Steve C did the real time statistics. Both of these are nice pieces of work! >Now if we could get a gempak and mcidas out-of-the-box >freebsd build, we'd really be happy campers! You can. Unidata McIDAS has worked on FreeBSD for some time (yet I made a couple of code modifications that will be in the v2002b addendum that I will release next week (hopefully). Chiz has GEMPAK building on FreeBSD out of the box also. >Many thanks, -Neil I'm grateful that you upgraded promptly. We may need to have some exchanges on tunings you can do in ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf. Could you send me your file so I can provide commentary about tuning that might do you good. Tom
