Hi Jack, 

Exexcute a ldmadmin pqactcheck in your home/ldm dir and see what that
returns..

Also, does ldm have a user account, it looks like it may be running as
root?

As Teresa mentioned, the relevant part of the log would be helpful as well
as your pqact.conf file...
