LDM 5.2 release

This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. We provide the archive for reference; many of the answers presented here remain technically correct, even if somewhat outdated. For the most up-to-date information on the use of NSF Unidata software and data services, please consult the Software Documentation first.

LDM 5.2 is now available.  The release includes a variety of bug fixes
and a few additions, described at

Sites that installed the 5.1.2 binary releases (the most recent
previous binary release from August 2000) are encouraged to install
LDM 5.2, as they will also get the benefits of improvements introduced
in versions 5.1.3 and 5.1.4 as well as the 5.2 changes.

Please include platform, os level, and other important information such as
parts of the ldmd.log files, system errors, etc.
