Re: 20020401: NEXRAD failover for TAMU

This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. We provide the archive for reference; many of the answers presented here remain technically correct, even if somewhat outdated. HI Neil,

We did not set up failover topology for NNEXRAD but had the top tier
sites place an

allow NNEXRAD *.edu

However, some have removed that line and hard coded their allows..sigh.

So please visit:

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/projects/idd/nexradFeed.html

and try a:

notifyme -vl - -h "remote host" -f NNEXRAD

where "remote host" will be exchanged for one of the second level routing
sites.

If you get in and see prods, then you can request NNEXRAD from them.

I know this is a bit bulky, but for this feedtype we currently do not have
a failover script or schema...Please let me know if you cannot find a site
that will allow and if nothing else we can set up a temp feed here.

Thank you,

-Jeff
