I was in meetings all day yesterday so I didn't get a chance to respond.
It was a good idea to post your question to ldm-users, actually I didn't
know the problem was with gdbm v1.8.0. Hopefully this solved your problem
and now we have the answer in the ldm support achives for future
reference.
