I think I figured this one out already. It seems that the product queue (set at 100 Mb) was fine during the nighttime hours, but during the day, we see a serious bog-down in data flow during the day (sometimes 1.5 hour latency) due to all the firewalls and increased traffic. I increased the queue size to 400 Mb and will see if that clears up the problem. I'm going to assume that the messages in ldmd.log are related to the same problem: Mar 30 17:52:41 fujita pqact[14130]: child 14682 exited with status 255 Mar 30 17:52:42 fujita pqact[14130]: child 14684 exited with status 255 Mar 30 17:52:42 fujita pqact[14130]: child 14686 exited with status 255 Pete Rahe Weather Lab Unix System Administrator Air Force Institute of Technology Wright-Patterson AFB OH * address@hidden * (DSN 785-3636 x4646 COMM (937) 255-3636 x4646 Fax: DSN 785-2921 COMM (937) 255-2921 -----Original Message----- From: Rahe Peter J Civ AFIT/ENP Sent: Thursday, March 30, 2000 12:38 PM To: 'address@hidden' Subject: Product queue problems I've started noticing a problem with my ldm last week and can't figure out the cause. I started noticing scrolling messages in the ldmd.log that say "Deleting oldest to make space 12560 bytes". I haven't changed anything in the ldm for months. These messages were appearing even though my ~ldm/data directory resides on an 8.7Gb filesystem that was only 57% full.
