[IDV #HYZ-584883]: problem with idv under linux

Well, one option I would recommend is to install the IDV 5.7 version (from the 
installer) and then run the command line with the java from:
/Application/IDV_5.7/jre.bundle/Contents/Home/jre/bin/java

Otherwise, you need to set up your own JRE with Java 3D library and others.

By the way, the IDV already has the feature to return lat/long of the selected 
area. You should research those features already developed before
any duplicated efforts.
