Hi Patrick, Are you still having trouble? I was just able to retrieve ADDE imagery, no problem. At any rate, here is our stock response for anyone who runs into this situation. There are several ports you need open in order to run the IDV so that it may connect to different data servers. In general, ports 112, 8080 and 80 are required. Port 112 is required to be open for ADDE. http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idv/docs/userguide/Systems.html Best, Unidata IDV Support > Full Name: Patrick Dills > Email Address: address@hidden > Organization: COMET > Package Version: 5.3 build date:2016-05-23 19:17 UTC > Operating System: Windows 8.1 > Hardware: Java: home: C:\Program Files\IDV_5.3\jre version: 1.8.0_45 > j3d:1.6.0-pre9-daily-experimental daily > Description of problem: Connecting to server:adde.ucar.edu > Connection refused: connect > > ****************** > Stack trace: > java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect > at java.net.DualStackPlainSocketImpl.connect0(Native Method) > at java.net.DualStackPlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Unknown Source) > at java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.doConnect(Unknown Source) > at java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.connectToAddress(Unknown Source) > at java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source) > at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source) > at java.net.SocksSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source) > at java.net.Socket.connect(Unknown Source) > at java.net.Socket.connect(Unknown Source) > at java.net.Socket.<init>(Unknown Source) > at java.net.Socket.<init>(Unknown Source) > at > edu.wisc.ssec.mcidas.adde.AddeURLConnection.connect(AddeURLConnection.java:644) > at > edu.wisc.ssec.mcidas.adde.AddeURLConnection.getInputStream(AddeURLConnection.java:819) > at > ucar.unidata.idv.chooser.adde.AddeChooser.checkIfServerIsOk(AddeChooser.java:1187) > at > ucar.unidata.idv.chooser.adde.AddeChooser.canAccessServer(AddeChooser.java:1230) > at > ucar.unidata.idv.chooser.adde.AddeImageChooser.connectToServer(AddeImageChooser.java:802) > at > ucar.unidata.idv.chooser.adde.AddeImageChooser.handleConnect(AddeImageChooser.java:634) > at > ucar.unidata.idv.chooser.adde.AddeChooser.handleConnectFromThread(AddeChooser.java:600) > at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) > at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) > at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) > at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) > at ucar.unidata.util.Misc$2.run(Misc.java:1215) > at ucar.unidata.util.Misc$3.run(Misc.java:1243) > > > Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: LYQ-618104 Department: Support IDV Priority: Normal Status: Closed =================== NOTE: All email exchanges with Unidata User Support are recorded in the Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publicly available through the web.
