Hi Paul. According to http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lmk/?n=vil_density VIL Density = VIL/Echo Top Therefore you need to set up a formula within the IDV to calculate this derived field from the radar data. Please see http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idv/docs/workshop/formulas/index.html Let us know if you have questions. -Julien > Full Name: Paul Bouchereau > Email Address: address@hidden > Organization: None > Package Version: 2.9 build date:2010-05-27 15:48 UTC > Operating System: Windows Vista > Hardware: Java: home: E:\Program Files\IDV_2.9\jre version: 1.6.0_20 > j3d:1.5.2 fcs (build4) > Description of problem: > > I have been looking thru the User Guide and I can't find a way to > calculate VIL Density.
