In IDV 1.2 beta releases, you can set the precision of lat/lon readouts through the IDV preferences. From the Main Menu, select the Edit, then Resources then User Preferences (Edit->Resources->User Preferences). Under the General tab, you'll see a section for Latitude/Longitude Format. You can use the dropdown menu to select one of the predefined formats, or type in your own.
