In IDV 1.2 beta releases, you can set the precision of lat/lon 
readouts through the IDV preferences.

From the Main Menu, select the Edit, then Resources then
User Preferences (Edit->Resources->User Preferences).

Under the General tab, you'll see a section for 
Latitude/Longitude Format.  You can use the dropdown
menu to select one of the predefined formats, or type
in your own.
