YangXin, We made time-series plots of the load average on tigge-ldm.cma.gov.cn and the number of LDM connections. The plots are attached. The spikes in the number of connections correlate with LDM log file messages about problems resolving hostnames into IP addresses (DNS problems). Because the LDM makes great use of name resolution, it is important that the resolution be fast. We suggest that you add the following entries to the file "/etc/hosts" so that the resolution will be fast and not depend on your name server (which appears to be unavailable sometimes): 150.163.141.243 mopora.cptec.inpe.br 193.61.196.74 tigge-ldm.ecmwf.int 128.117.64.209 ultrazone.ucar.edu 128.117.149.64 rtstats.unidata.ucar.edu Alternatively, you could install a caching name-server on tigge-ldm.cma.gov.cn.
