>From: Eirh-Yu Hsie <address@hidden> >Organization: CU/ICRES >Keywords: 200406091516.i59FGvtK029618 IDD Hsie, >After thelma down last night, I keep getting: > >Jun 09 15:15:10 rainbow emo[7670]: ERROR: requester6.c:459; ldm_clnt.c:286: >nullproc_6 failure to emo.unidata.ucar.edu; ldm_clnt.c:142: RPC: Unable to >receive; errno = Connection reset by peer thelma.ucar.edu went down when the NCAR Mesa lab lost power yesterday evening. We pressed a spare at Unidata into service as a 'new' thelma, but this machine was unable to keep up with the ingest and relay load that the original thelma carries (the new machines is a Sunfire 280R; thelma is a Sunfire 480R). I took the liberty of logging onto user machines that I had access to and switching their feed requests from thelma to emo. I thought that I verified that the sites I switched were getting data, but I obviously didn't check closeley enough to make sure that rainbow.al.noaa.gov was receiving data. I apologize for this. >How can I resolve it??? I just added a global allow for .gov sites in emo's ldmd.conf file and stopped and restarted the LDM. If you left the requests to emo on rainbow, it would resume getting data now. I see, however, that you switched back to thelma this morning; this is OK now that the load has been lessened on the replacement thelma. I apologize for not being more diligent in making sure that data was flowing from emo to rainbow. It was a long night...
