This is the note I sent to the IDD:

Hiya,

For the present time I created/implemented a filter on thelma to eliminate
the NIDS products from the IDD. My concern was network congestion and the
increased burden on many  LDM sites.  Also, if the products are going to
be encrypted, then they will not be usefull until an encryption decoder
is developed.  I don't know if that will be possible.  If a decoders can
be developed, a distribution scheme will be implemented for the NIDS. At
this time the NOAAport NIDS information is hard to find.

Should the iita machine also implement the filter?

filter:  WMO "(^[A-RT-Z])|(^S[^D]..[^9][^7])"
