Neil and Patrick, copied you both on this since you both brought this up at the same time. I am finding it difficult to decode all of the NAVGEM grids. For example, the ground temp and heat flux are decoding correctly after creating the file fnocgrib3.tbl and adding entries, but dew-point depression entry, which exists in wmogrib3.tbl, is not being decoded. it may be an issue with the vertical coordinates. dcgrib was able to decode dewpoint depression from NOGAPS but the parm and vcord field in the GEMPAK grid file is blank. an attempt to decode NAVGEM with dcgrib (rather than dcgrib2) failed due to the grid being too large. so, lots of problems, but we are getting there. my fnocgrib2.tbl file is ! !
