I have run other Unidata-supplied applications (e.g., LDM and McIDAS) on Ubuntu
(v7.x), but not GEMPAK.

Since Ubuntu is based on the Debian release and our binaries are built on Fedora
7, it might be wise to build GEMPAK from source on your machine and not try to
use the binary.
