Bob, GEMPAK is freely available for download from our web site by registering and accepting the terms of the Unidata usage agreement. GEMPAK is not a Windows application. You could run a Linux emulation program on top of XP, such as VMware. GEMPAK can decode and display common data sets anywhere on the globe. You will need to provide yur own data source. Numerous decoder programs are available for converting weather data into GEMPAK format. Information on these programs can be found in the online web pages for GEMPAK setup and the tutorial materials which are the primary method of support for unaffiliated users.
