20031105: changing sncross outputs into a jpeg

Dusty,

Information on available DEVICE drivers is available through
"phelp device". For web type displays, GIF, PNG or TIF are available.

An example that shows how tocombine separate GIF images created with the 
GIF device driver is shown:

The "Imagemagick" package contains a program "convert" which is
commonly available on most Linux platforms. The script in the above link
uses the -loop option to convert to create an animaged gif which would
appear in a browser like:

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/staff/chiz/globe/animate_500hght.gif

ntrans is a program in GEMPAK which views products created using the NC driver-
however, I think you probably want more GIF/PNG etc.
