Do you have write permission to the GDOUTF? What version of GEMPAK are you running (eg type "version" at the gdcross prompt). It might be necessary to send me a sample file. Would it be possible for you to create a new file with gdcfil of the same projection and use gdmod to copy over the 500mb laph grids? If we can't see an easy solution, I'll probably need to download your grid file and give it a whirl here. Steve Chiswell
