Diana, I find that the integrated stability index calculations that compute the level of free convection are having trouble with two features of the data. One being the duplicated levels (eg 850 and 12.10 mb), and the other being certain missing teperatures in the significant wind levels). GEMPAK is built to handle the missing levels from the Radiosonde data which is transmitted in parts, but the archived data is slightly different. Probably the easiest solution I can offer is to create a small program to clean up the GEMPAK files- that way you don't have to reconvert any of the files you already have.
