Steve, The makefile you sent out with pl12 does have optimization turned on, but I just saved my Gemenviron, and makefiles from my first install, and for some reason optimization is turned off. I don't remember why.. Anyway I will recompile with -O turned on. Thanks, Robert NSBF Meteorology
