i know what you are saying about seeking to the end of the PDS section, but i 
want the code to fail so a 
user doesn't assume that the code is working and the code fails at the wrong 
point. the code fails and then
i usually get test case so i can program and test the code. so at this point, 
i'm not changing the code
unless you can convince me that this approach is wrong.
