Hmm that is very strange.
Could you do one quick test first. Could you try and install the Virtual
Machine option
for CAVE and run it (for whichever
v18:
http://unidata.github.io/awips2/install/install-cave/#method-2-linux-virtual-machine
Can you successfully start up CAVE and connect to EDEX within the Virtual
Machine?
