If you follow the instructions as you did previously and download the NEW
awips_install.sh script, and run that with the --server flag, that will backup
all of your current configs and everything in /awips2/edex/data/utility which
includes:
/awips2/database/data/pg_hba.conf (database configs)
/awips2/edex/data/utility (all menus, procedures, etc)
/awips2/edex/bin
/awips2/ldm (edits to pqact.conf and ldmd.conf)
/awips2/dev (you may not have this dir)
/awips2/edex/conf
/awips2/edex/etc
/awips2/edex/logs
/usr/bin/edex
/etc/init.d/edexServiceList
/var/spool/cron/awips
You can edit the awips_install.sh script to backup other directories, comment
out directories, or do your own backup.
Note, in order to use any of the back-up files in the new build, you will have
to manually make those changes. We can help if there are some changes from the
new build and your back-up that you want to keep.
As the script runs, once the data are backed up, it will proceed with
completely removing the old build of AWIPS and then install the latest build.
If you have both CAVE and EDEX installed on the same machine, install EDEX
first. This will remove CAVE as well. Once the new EDEX is installed, you can
run the --cave flag to install CAVE.
Please let uf know if you have any more questions.

Tiffany Meyer
