Hi Sam, I think I've found some information regarding model sounding data. For the sounding data, I believe that is also available from NCEI. You can start here: https://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/ Find the particular model you are looking for and then drill down by date/run to get the list of products. For example, the latest from GFS: https://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/gfs/prod/gfs.20200812/12/ In there you will see various bufr "files". You can also see this with HRRR: https://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/hrrr/prod/hrrr.20200812/conus/ In particular the bufrsnd.*/ directories. I believe all the bufr files with "snd" are the sounding data. Let me know if this is helpful at all.
