Hi Aly, For generating real-time model imagery, we use MetPy [1]. Here are some examples [2]. The data is being provided by a THREDDS server. Unfortunately, MetPy is Python-based, not Javascript-based, but hopefully it will be helpful to you anyway. The GitHub repo [3] is the place to ask further questions about MetPy.
