announce: TDS stable release 3.16

This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. We provide the archive for reference; many of the answers presented here remain technically correct, even if somewhat outdated. For the most up-to-date information on the use of NSF Unidata software and data services, please consult the Software Documentation first.

A new, stable release of the THREDDS Data Server 3.16 is now available at

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/projects/THREDDS/tech/TDS.html
This release has many bug fixes and feature enhancements. We recommend that you upgrade to it ASAP. 
This version of the TDS requires Java 1.5+. We are running motherlode TDS under 
Tomcat 6.0.10/JDK 1.6.0.
