Knowing that port 388 is open rules out that option for the :

h_clnt_create(148.126.34.16): Timed out while creating connection
Mar 14 20:57:38  ADDRESSED   0.000004    0   148.126.34.16



Mar 14 20:59:58 suomildm2 rpc.ldmd[24056]: Denying connection from
ldm.csrsr.ncu.edu.tw

Is this an alias for the machine?

Do you have an allow for it?

what does:

notifyme -vl - -h ldm.csrsr.ncu.edu.tw -f GPSSRC -0 15000

yeild?

I think this may be the issue:

(jweber) lenny:/home/jweber 19 % nslookup ldm.csrsr.ncu.edu.tw
Server:  laraine.unidata.ucar.edu
Address:  128.117.140.62

*** laraine.unidata.ucar.edu can't find ldm.csrsr.ncu.edu.tw: Non-existent
host/domain


You may need to have them verify a machine name or IP number.

DNS does not seem to recognize:

ldm.csrsr.ncu.edu.tw
