The subdir value you need to set here is `osx-64`, not `osx64`. conda activate py37 conda config --env --set subdir osx-64 conda install -c conda-forge python=3.7 netcdf4 I use an updated environment with miniconda + mamba + conda-forge, but this should work regardless of your specific conda setup.
