- Subject: [noaaport] Changes to GOES East/West data coming over NOAAPort
- Date: Fri, 30 Sep 2022 11:25:08 -0500
Greetings,
Several significant changes to the GOES data being transmitted over NOAAPort will take place beginning on or about November 16th for GOES-East and November 29th for GOES-West. Here are the highlights:
- Cease transmission of all reduced-resolution southern hemisphere imagery, for all bands (1-16)
- Cease creation and transmission of the GOES-West Hawaii Regional sector, for all bands (1-16)
- Increase the spatial resolution of SCMI Band 13 (IR Window) to full (2 km) resolution (for northern hemisphere)
- Begin transmission of SCMI (Band 13 only) for a new GOES-West regional sector (American Samoa)
- Cease transmission of SCMI Bands 11, 12, 14, and 16 for the GOES-East Puerto Rico sector
Most of these are either removals or changes to existing products. However there is one addition, the American Samoa sector (#4). Band 13 for that domain will arrive under the following [new] header:
Depending on your configuration, you may want to check your PQACT files to ensure the new RZ domain will be accepted.
Best,
-Mike
