[netCDF #EUP-890946]: fail to run make check when install netcdf-4.4.1.1

Hello,

This is an interesting error you are reporting;  what is your build process? 
Are you running ./configure && make && make check? Or are you invoking them 
some other way? Also, can you provide the config.log file that was generated 
when you ran configure? That may provide some additional clues.
