Making libhdf4 static is unlikely to help (assuming that the netcdf-c library was built without hddf4 support-- the default). First, when you tried the program I sent (with hdf4 stuff removed), did it nc_inq work on your original file? Second, we need to see if we can isolate what part of the SD code is causing the failure. So, I would take my program and turn on, bit by bit, all the SD code from the start of the program to the point where nc_inq is called. One hopes that at some point, turning on some specific piece of code will suddenly cause nc_inq to fail. =Dennis Heimbigner Unidata Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: YFO-861586 Department: Support netCDF Priority: Normal Status: Closed =================== NOTE: All email exchanges with Unidata User Support are recorded in the Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publicly available through the web.
