Hello, What version of pnetcdf are you using? This is not an expected problem. You might try again using the recently-released netCDF 4.4.0, along with the latest pnetcdf (1.6.1). If you try this, let me know if the issue remains or is resolved. Additionally, would you please provide the config.log generated when you configured 4.3.3.1? This will provide additional information and may shed some light on what is occurring.
