[netCDF #OBV-637997]: incorrect output with netcdf-4.1.2

Howdy John!

This is disturbing news indeed! Can I ask you to get your user to try this with 
the latest daily snapshot, to see if the problem persists?

We need to find a way to reproduce this problem. What is the user programming 
in? F90? Can he send us a copy of his code and instructions how to reproduce 
the problem?
