Sorry, but it looks like your install didn't include the HDF5 libraries. You need the HDF5 libraries for the library you installed. If you don't want netCDF-4, you can do without the HDF5 library. If you do want netCDF-4 then you must install HDF5 first. I suggest you build from source following the instructions here: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/netcdf-install/Quick-Instructions.html#Quick-Instructions Please let me know if this doesn't work.
