[netCDF #GMO-635165]: netcdf-4.0.1 with MPI enabled

It looks like you are using
a version of shell that does
not act like the normal
Bourne shell.
Anyway, try this one and report back
the output. I am testing two hypotheses:
1. that embedded blanks in "....." are not
   always handled correctly
2. that `...` is not handled correctly.
