Hi Mike,

The netcdf-4 beta releases and the production netcdf-4 release that was
announced on
June 12 all support zlib per-variable compression, as in HDF5.  Is there some
reason
you prefer a beta release to the production release of version 4.0?

The production 4.0 release is available from the netCDF web site at
