[netCDF #ODF-774270]: parallel file open segmentation fault

Hi Max,

The daily snapshot from

  ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/snapshot/netcdf-4-daily.tar.gz

finally has a fix for the ncdump problems with char array members of a compound
type,
for both attributes and variables.  It was a bit more than a bug fix, as the
code to handle
this case was actually missing.

Please let us know if you discover more bugs.  I suspect we haven't found the
last one :-).
