Hi Zach,
I suspect that however you unzipped the 3.6.2 zip file, the program you
used turned all line-feed "\n" characters into carriage-return line-feed
"\r\n" combinations for line endings, and the Cygwin tools don't understand
the carriage-return characters.
Maybe you could fix your WinZip options to not do this, using the following
steps
1. Open WinZip Classic.
2. Select Options > Configuration > Miscellaneous tab.
3. Uncheck the 'TAR file smart CR/LF conversion' box. The box remains
unchecked
until it is checked again.
4. Unzip the file again.
Please let us know if this fixes the problem ...
