Hi Steven, The file at http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/netcdf/binary/darwin_8.8-power_macintosh/netcdf-3.6.2.tar.gz is a precompiled binary for users to install without compiling from source. That's probably the file you got. It's OK if you have the platfomr it was built for (a PowerPC Mac) and don't need to compile a Fortran interface, for example. I would recommend just getting the source release, which is designed to be built on any platform (there is no MacOS X specific version): http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/netcdf/ftp/netcdf.tar.gz It will have the directories and configure script you are looking for. --Russ Russ Rew UCAR Unidata Program address@hidden http://www.unidata.ucar.edu Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: NZA-172884 Department: Support netCDF Priority: Normal Status: Closed
